Tracy founded Chelepis in 1987 and ushered in a new era of accountability for occupancy cost recoveries between landlords and their tenants. Tracy has been recognized as one of the “Founding Fathers” of the real estate lease audit industry.  This vision has not only refunded millions of dollars of overcharges to our clients but continues to introduce new strategies and solutions to make the lease administration function more efficient and less costly for tenants.

 

Tracy earned his CPA certificate at the former Big 8 CPA firm, Coopers and Lybrand, and worked in construction accounting for a major telecommunications company, upon whose suggestion he established his own real estate auditing and consulting firm.

 

Tracy’s career has spanned decades in real estate and construction, and he has served as mediator between contractors and developers and provided expert testimony in real estate litigation. In addition to being an industry pioneer and expert, Tracy has developed and financed several office and industrial properties and currently owns and manages the same in the suburban Kansas City Market.  

 

As CEO of Chelepis & Associates, Inc., Tracy manages a professional staff, provides oversight of operations and accounting, and directs client negotiations of the audit and consulting teams.

 

Outside the office, Tracy enjoys spending time with his family and friends, working on various projects at the family farm, attending sporting events, supporting local charitable organizations and is actively involved with his family’s church.​
